DEVONthink

Scribe is turning out to be very buggy for importing info from my Bookends bibliography database. I came across DEVONthink, a really powerful information manager that seems VERY flexible and can index, search, organize, create wiki-style links, cross-reference, all kinds of files. It’s not free but it might be a good investment…

Take a look on the video here. Hmm, another toy to play with…

    Hi dave!
I ended up getting Devonthink Pro and Devonagent. Now I’m wonder if I should have gotten the Pro Office… Oh well, I suppose I can always upgrade if I find the need. I’m still playing with it at the moment but so far so good…

Are there any rumours about what might be in devon 2.0?

The substantial advantage for office are as I see two things, which fro em would not necessarily be worth the price. 1. Easy to scan and add documents. 2. Share over a network of computers. No idea about 2.0, but I will say this, that the developers are amazingly responsive if their is something you need email them. I think at least one of the head developers is a former academic.
