I stumbled across your website while looking for fellow history postgrad who happen to blog. I am most impressed by your site (mine tends to be a stream of consciousness adventure, but I am still getting my feet wet). However, with this latest posting, I feel inclined to comment. Hurray for advocating knowledge of Canadian history. I am reminded to look over a survey of Canadian history before I am let loose in front of my future classes. For most, Canada is just a land mass above America - I'll seek to rectify that in the future.
